Information from the Lac du Flambeau School District Office:
Ref: Indian Policies and Procedures Parent Review Input-

Dear Parent or Guardian of a Native American Student,
The Lac du Flambeau School District is continually striving to provide your children with an exceptional education. Every year, the District reviews the Impact Aid Indian Education Policies and Procedures (IPP). The IPP plays an important role. The policy ensures there is communication and input regarding the education of our Native American students between the families and the Lac du Flambeau School District. Please review the draft of the IPP's and provide the District with your input. If you have ideas, thoughts, suggestions or ideas regarding the IPP's, you may write the information in the space provided at the bottom of the IPP's below or submit your comments, ideas, or suggestions to the Lac du Flambeau School District Office at 2899 Hwy 47, Lac du Flambeau Wisconsin by November 18, 2020. The comments will be reviewed at a public forum in December and any revisions to the IPP's will be approved by Lac du Flambeau Board of Education at their January Board meeting.

Impact Aid Questionnaire

Boozhoo Families,
We invite you to complete the 2020-2021 Impact Aid Questionnaire. The purpose of the Impact Aid Program Indian Policies and Procedures is to ensure equal participation of Indian Children in the Lac du Flambeau School District education program and activities. The Lac du Flambeau School District not only supports this purpose, but the District’s goal is to better serve all students and families. In an effort to hear the voices of our parents, community members and Lac du Flambeau Tribal leaders in the planning and development of our educational programs and activities, the following questionnaire was created. Your input is very important to us. Please fill out the questionnaire below and use the space provided for an opportunity to make additional educational comments. If you prefer a paper copy of the questionnaire mailed to you please call the front office at 715-588-3838. Completed questionnaires can then be dropped off at our 24/7 secured drop box located outside of the front entrance. Please complete by Wednesday, November 18 and let us know if you have any questions. Miigwech!

Lac du Flambeau Public School would like to give out HUGE Halloween Virtual HUGS to the Lac du Flambeau Community! The students at LDF School will have no shortage of halloween candy this year! On Tuesday, halloween candy was donated from the community involved group/Youth Funds (for the Remote Learners) and the generosity has just continued. Today, Thursday, the LDF Business Development Corporation donated almost 600 bags of candy for the In-Person learners. It is noted that it all started from the staff at the LDF Country Market. The LDF (BDC) then sponsored the Halloween Treats for the LDF school children since Trick or Treating has been cancelled over the Coronavirus outbreak. The Halloween treats were all hand packed (with safety precautions in place!) by the LDF Country Market employees. George, the General Manager, made sure of this, along with the awesome staff who filled the candy bags! They even made sure healthy snacks were part of the treat and included, oranges, carrots and more!
Here is a message from Dean from the BDC-They are glad that they were able to make a difference for the students in these difficult times!
SO... Happy Halloween to the students at Lac du Flambeau Public School! The treats will be distributed at the end of the school day.
