This is a message from the Lac du Flambeau School District Dear Families, We are extremely saddened to inform you about a recent loss to our school community. On Friday, December 3, 1st grade student Derek Clause started his journey on to be with The Great Spirit. Derek has numerous siblings, uncles, aunts and cousins in the school community. For those who did not know Derek, he was a wonderful, sweet, loving little boy who loved being in school. Our deepest sympathies and wholehearted thoughts go out to Derek’s family and loved ones. Our LDF students in the Cultural Connections Class have finished their first smoked brain tanned hide of the school year. Our students will be using this hide to make tobacco pouches. We could always use a good deer hide and please don't throw them away. Chi miigwech to everyone who has donated deer hides to our program.
