This is a message from the Lac du Flambeau School District
Dear Families,
The State of Wisconsin requires that schools have practice drills to increase safety awareness. In light of the events that have taken place in our country’s schools in recent years, Lac du Flambeau Public School will once again be conducting a preventative armed intruder lockdown drill. In keeping with school compliance and meeting the monthly state of Wisconsin requirements, routinely we practice drills to promote safety in our school.
A preventative armed intruder lockdown is a means to rapidly enhance the level of security in the school. By locking all exterior doors and main interior doors, staff can make it more difficult for an intruder in the building or an unruly person in the vicinity to gain access to staff or students. Again this is a drill. We do not want to cause any apprehension or fear to our students, parents or community so we are announcing the date of the drill. The drill will occur on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Each classroom teacher will be reviewing with their classes the actions needed to be taken during this drill. Please also speak to your child(ren) so they are aware of what will be happening and will be better able to focus on practicing the necessary skills for this drill. Lac du Flambeau Public School is once again offering virtual learning support available to ALL 4K-8th grade LdF students starting on Tuesday, October 12.
This virtual platform allows students the opportunity for additional learning support and to seamlessly work 1-on-1 with an LdF Public School licensed teacher.
When?
Offered 2 days per week
Attend one or both sessions each week
Tuesdays from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Thursdays from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Just a reminder that we are resuming in-person learning for ALL students today, Monday, October 4, 2021. Please remind your child(ren) to bring their school issued chromebook, charger & mifi (if applicable) and any other school materials with them to school today.
Thank you for your flexibility and cooperation during these past two weeks of remote learning. Your efforts have significantly reduced the number of students/staff out due to COVID related symptoms to less than 2% and actual positive cases to less than 1% of the school population. We have deep cleaned the building and will continue to have many covid safety protocols in place. As a reminder our district Covid Dashboard can be accessed at our school website at https://www.ldf.k12.wi.us/page/ldf-school-covid-19-information. For those families who sincerely need meals delivered, we are now looking into offering the meals to be delivered to your household. BUT, we need families to call the Lac du Flambeau Public School, A'viands Food Service Director at 715.588.3838 OPTION 4 no later than TODAY, Friday, Sept. 24th, by 3:00 p.m.
Please leave your name, how many meals you need, and the complete address you wish the meals to be delivered to along with a working call back number. Again, this must be done no later than today, Friday, September 24th by 3 p.m. in order to prepare your meals. Thank you.
