This is a message from the Lac du Flambeau School District November 3, 2020 Dear Families of LdF Seventh Grade Students, We are presently experiencing a high number of students and staff verified as close contacts of individuals testing positive for Covid-19. As a result, and out of an abundance of caution to maintain the health of all, we will be moving all seventh grade students learning to remote beginning tomorrow, November 4 through November 16, 2020. In-person learning for seventh grade students will resume November 17, 2020. What does this mean for your seventh grade student? Your student has been notified of the expectation that they will participate with the virtual schedule as they have practiced. Their teachers, if healthy, will be online teaching similarly to how they would in school. If your child is unable to participate because of illness or any other reason, please notify the attendance line as you would if they were in-person. We have completed contact tracing and those parents whose children were verified as close contacts have already been notified. These close contacts are expected to quarantine for 14 days. Those who have NOT been deemed close contacts, are not required to quarantine, but will still be learning remotely through the 16th. Please read the full letter & review the 7th grade virtual teaching schedule below. Miigwech! https://docs.google.com/document/d/15DXptti9ZaXwd_IY6-Co70z4xQHgibcxPvDzMDBOqZ0/edit?usp=sharing

Lac du Flambeau Public School would like to give out HUGE Halloween Virtual HUGS to the Lac du Flambeau Community! The students at LDF School will have no shortage of halloween candy this year! On Tuesday, halloween candy was donated from the community involved group/Youth Funds (for the Remote Learners) and the generosity has just continued. Today, Thursday, the LDF Business Development Corporation donated almost 600 bags of candy for the In-Person learners. It is noted that it all started from the staff at the LDF Country Market. The LDF (BDC) then sponsored the Halloween Treats for the LDF school children since Trick or Treating has been cancelled over the Coronavirus outbreak. The Halloween treats were all hand packed (with safety precautions in place!) by the LDF Country Market employees. George, the General Manager, made sure of this, along with the awesome staff who filled the candy bags! They even made sure healthy snacks were part of the treat and included, oranges, carrots and more! Here is a message from Dean from the BDC-They are glad that they were able to make a difference for the students in these difficult times! SO... Happy Halloween to the students at Lac du Flambeau Public School! The treats will be distributed at the end of the school day.

Here is a message from Lac du Flambeau Public School: The state of Wisconsin requires that schools have practice drills to increase safety awareness. LDF School will be conducting a preventative armed intruder lockdown drill next week Thursday, Oct. 29th. Again, this will only be a drill. Please see the entire letter attached and review it with your family so students are prepared. As always, please contact us with any questions or concerns. Secondly, As a reminder: Tomorrow, Friday, October 23rd there is no in-person school as it is a remote learning day. The Lac du Flambeau School District is continuing with remote Fridays for all students during the 2nd Quarter. The remote Fridays provide an opportunity for teachers to plan for both remote and in-person learners for the upcoming week and also provide time for teachers to connect with remote learners. Thank you and have a great afternoon!
