We are excited that this year we will finally get to have multiple grades participate! 1st and 2nd graders will perform December 13th at 2:00pm. 3rd and 4th graders will perform December 14th at 2:00pm. 4th grade ukelele students as well as band and choir students will perform December 13th at 6:00pm. *For safety reasons with the number of people present in the building; students will be expected to return to their homeroom classes after the event and remain there until the end of the day as they clean up and collect their items to take home. Students will only be allowed to leave with their families directly following the concerts if arrangements have been made with the office prior to December 13th and students check out in the office the day of.

Lac du Flambeau Talk Show hosts Jackson, Kendall, Dallas, and Gavin present a series of three special episodes honoring LdF veterans Mr. Brian Jackson, Mr. Dan Thompson, and Mr. Marquis Johnson. Each episode begins with an introduction acknowledging the proud history of Native American service in the United States Military and previews the LdF Public School's Veterans Day Assembly, followed by an in-depth interview with each veteran. A special thank you to the families that attended and all of the staff & community that helped out and a Special Thank You to the Ojibwe Language Teachers and their interactive hunting presentation. We at Lac du Flambeau Public School value each and every opportunity for student learning and growth.As a crucial component of student academic, behavioral and social-emotional growth, we recognize that good attendance is more than complying with laws; rather, it is truly a matter of providing our children with more and better opportunities to learn!
Good attendance is also a component to be eligible for our student quarterly reward trips. Student attendance needs to be 90% or greater each quarter to be eligible. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the school with any questions or concerns. We appreciate your partnership! Miigwech!

NEW DATE!! For the LDF Fall Dance for middle school students... Friday, November 4th. Ms. Hernandez is super excited to be able to hold the dance! Come have a fun night! 6:00-8:30 at the school. Happy Fall!!
The LDF Halloween Dance for middle school students that was planned for tonight, Friday, Oct. 28th has been postponed. Ms. Hernandez apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause for the families.

On today’s episode, student host Jackson follows up with students who participated in the canoe launch at Purdue University on Indigenous People's Day. Jackson and his special guest, Mr. Wayne Valliere, discuss some of the finest moments of the Purdue trip, share, in detail, part of the canoe-building process, talk about the history and significance of birch bark canoes in Anishinaabe culture, celebrate how, “...by launching that canoe we were sending a message to the world that the Anishnaabe people are still alive and we’re still thriving and we’re still on the planet.” Finally, Mr. Valliere explains how the launch supports the Anishinaabe mission to spread an important message to the entire human tribe. That message is: “We are all in this together…What we do today matters. The things we do today for the environment, matters. It’s so important that we speak up for our grandmother, the Earth.”
