This is a message from the Lac du Flambeau School District January 18, 2021 Dear Families, It is with deep sadness that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. On Sunday, January 17th, 7th grade student Denise LaBarge started her journey on to be with The Great Spirit after a long courageous battle with cancer. She will be remembered for the incredible strength she showed in her fight against cancer, her big, beautiful and infectious smile, and her kindness. Denise was smart and creative, loved to read, and had a dry, witty sense of humor. She will always be a cherished member of our Warrior community. Our sincere condolences and heartfelt thoughts go out to her family, friends and loved ones. All of us, staff and students, are saddened by the loss of Denise, and we ask for your support during this difficult time. Dear Families, Lac du Flambeau Public School is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System at our school starting Monday, January 25th to strengthen our program of campus safety for students and faculty. Part of keeping students and faculty safe is knowing who is in our buildings at all times, and the Raptor system will allow us to do that. The Raptor system will better allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools and provide us with a safer environment for our students and staff.
