Rock Your Mocs Week 2021
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, we recognize the Rock Your Mocs movement to honor our heritage by wearing our moccasins, or any other traditional clothing, as a positive opportunity to celebrate and honor who we are as Indigenous people.
What is Rock Your Mocs? Rock Your Mocs is a worldwide Native American and Indigenous Peoples movement held annually in November during Native American Heritage Month to celebrate the beauty and diversity of Indigenous cultures.
Why? We, as Indigenous people stand united through our Tribal individuality. While wearing our moccasins, or traditional clothing, we honor our ancestors, Indigenous history, culture, and traditions.

Greetings LDF Families,
One of the primary goals of the Lac du Flambeau School District is to establish and maintain a favorable academic atmosphere for students and staff. Handling behavior challenges in the classroom can be difficult at the best of times. This fall, all the changes and uncertainty of the pandemic have made things even tougher. Since returning from our two week shift to remote learning, we have seen an increase in inappropriate behaviors by some of our students.
Effective learning cannot take place in a classroom where student behavior interferes with the ability of the teacher to teach effectively or the ability of other students to participate in classroom learning activities. As we move forward, we appreciate your support in reinforcing expectations for appropriate student behavior.

Currently the testing is being done in room 102- This is a free service through the state and is open to staff, students (with parent present) and families. They will have a drive up service as needed as well so that sick people do not have to enter the school. Please let me know if you have any questions. They will be offering rapid and PCR tests. Boozhoo Families,
As you may already be aware there is an apparent schedule of planned Tik Tok challenges, the majority of which are supposed to take place in schools. TikTok is a social media site where short videos can be posted. While the videos often feature singing or dancing, recent “challenges” have been issued.
School bathrooms across the country were damaged in September following a TikTok challenge. Please continue to talk to your child(ren) about social media, influences, being a positive leader and making good decisions that contribute to their success. Students attempting the challenge at school and found to be in violation of the district’s student code of conduct could face disciplinary actions, including an out-of-school suspension, expulsion and police involvement.
Please find below a copy of this challenge schedule. We are asking all families to talk directly with their child(ren) to discourage them from participating. Please also encourage them to notify school staff if they learn of anyone who has participated or is planning to participate in any of these challenges. Thank you in advance for partnering with us to prevent this type of behavior so we can maintain a safe and respectful school environment.
