Warriors Families, Today we lost power at 10:35 am at school and other locations in the community. Our back up generator is on and we are able to feed all student lunch. WPS estimates that power will be fully restored by 12:45 pm. At the this we plan on completing a full school day.

If you think for a minute, you can probably remember a teacher who had a positive impact on your life. That is what teachers do. They help children learn lessons that follow them for the rest of their lives. Today, Karlina BigJohn said she loves her 4th grade teacher Mrs. Klopatek. She said she would like to be a teacher when she grows up! Karlina enjoyed lunch in the principal's office. Enjoy your day!

Look who visited LDF School today! Yes, Smokey Bear! And did you know he turned 80 years old this year? He looks great! LDF Office Staff had Smokey sign in to the new RAPTOR system too, as all guests who visit the school are required to. Students from 4K-1st grade (even Head Start kiddos) could shake Smokey's hand and see him up close! Firefighters and the LDF Emergency Response crew were teaching students about fire safety during this Fire Prevention Week. Students received firefighter hats too! From all of us here at LDF School...THANK YOU Smokey & Friends for visiting LDF School. And Happy Belated Birthday Smokey!! WOW...that had to have been a lot of birthday candles to blow out!
